  • Emergency Medicine - Adult 3
  • Pediatric Intensive Care
  • Medical ICU/Surgical ICU
  • Neuro ICU
  • Cardiac ICU

Acute Care Elective Rotations

  • Toxicology - Wisconsin Poison Center, Milwaukee (recommended)
  • Infectious Disease
  • Psychiatry
  • Others based on resident interest

Longitudinal Rotations

  • Management
  • Education/Drug info/Teaching
  • Staffing
  • Advising

Activities while on the rotation will include (but are not limited to):

  • Rounding with the interdisciplinary patient care team daily (where applicable)
  • Daily patient profile review
  • Patient monitoring/problem solving
  • Investigation of medication error reports and adverse drug reactions
  • Drug information, literature searches and reading and contributing to team files
  • Team-related projects
  • Communication and interaction with staff
  • Contributing as a member of the care team
  • Medication order review
  • Direct care of critical patients, including stroke team participation, code participation and trauma participation
  • Procurement and facilitation of administration of medication therapy
