Twelve Hospitals Honored for Donation Excellence

Twelve hospitals in the UW Health Organ Procurement Organization's (OPO) designated service area (DSA) have been honored for their leadership in organ donation.

The U.S. Health and Human Services award medals to hospitals for achieving and exceeding the goals of 75 percent conversion rate, (meaning 75 percent or more of the eligible donors became donors), 3.75 organs transplanted per donor and reaching a 10 percent donation after cardiac death rate.

UW Health OPO staff welcomed 130 guests to the event, and appreciated the assistance of everyone who attended and worked to make this event a great success!
