Double Organ Donor Registrations During Orangetober
There are now two million Wisconsin residents on the Wisconsin Donor Registry, thanks to the hard work of donation volunteers, donation professionals and the employees at the Department of Motor Vehicles.
But, there are even more people yet to register as donors in Wisconsin, and UW Organ and Tissue Donation (UW OTD) wants to find those people through Orangtober, a special campaign in October.
Spread the Message: Send an e-Card or Get Social This Orangetober
The goal of Orangetober is to double the average number of donor registrations in October from 50,000 to 100,000. To kick off Orangetober, UW OTD engaged the support of hospital CEOs, asking them to send an email to their staff giving them time to go online to register at the Donate Life Wisconsin/Donor Registry. Members of Donate Life Wisconsin are joining the effort by sending a letter and certificate of appreciation signed by the president of Donate Life Wisconsin to each DMV location. A press release was sent statewide, announcing the two million mark on the state registry.
Those who are already registered can still contribute to the effort by encouraging friends and family to become registered organ donors. The online tool kit provides social media messages, images and an e-card…all valuable ways to spread the word and ripple on. Visit the tool kit for more ideas on how you can help with the effort. We will only be able to reach our goal if everyone helps! View the tool kit
