UW Voice and Swallow Clinics receives 2016 WSHA Salutes Outstanding Service Award
Madison, Wisconsin -The Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Association (WSHA) awarded Dr. Susan Thibeault and her colleagues at the UW Voice and Swallow Clinics the 2016 WSHA Salutes Outstanding Service Award.
The WSHA awards committee cited the group’s unique and altruistic contributions to the field of communicative disorders and hundreds of individual speech language pathologists throughout the country. Dr. Thibeault and her staff of 20 speech-language pathologists treat adult and pediatric patients for a wide range of voice, swallowing and airway disorders. In January 2014, the group launched the Voice and Swallow Clinics Lecture Series, a free, online continuing education portal that offers lectures on cutting-edge topics in the area of voice and swallowing clinical practice. Since the program’s inception, participants have earned more than 5,400 CEUs (continuing education units), and the lecture series has been accessed by users from every state in the U.S., Canada, India, New Zealand and Australia.
Dr. Thibeault accepted the award at the WSHA annual meeting on February 5, at Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
