UW Hospital Wins Consumer Choice Award
MADISON - Consumers have spoken, and have selected UW Hospital and Clinics as the hospital with the best quality and image in the Madison area.
The 2006/07 Consumer Choice Awards are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in the National Research Corporation's (NRC) Healthcare Market Guide® study.
For UW Hospital and Clinics, the award is a repeat performance, having also won the award last year. The Consumer Choice Award is based on composite scores of multiple quality and image ratings provided by consumers in NRC's 2006/07 Healthcare Market Guide study. The award is given to hospitals in the top 186 Metropolitan Statistical Areas.

To determine the winners, National Research Corporation surveys over 200,000 households representing 400,000 consumers in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia.
The 2006/07 Healthcare Market Guide is the nation's largest and most comprehensive study of its kind. No other study used to measure hospital performance and preferences contains more consumer responses than NRC's study. The study has a margin of error of + or - 0.2 percent at a national level.
