UW Hospital and Clinics Again Among Top Healthcare Employers
Madison, Wisconsin - University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics was named to the 2015 list of "150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare," compiled by Becker's Healthcare. This is the second consecutive year that UWHC has been named to the list.
To develop the list, the Becker's editorial team conducted research and evaluated organizations based on their benefits, workplace culture, professional-development opportunities and previous recognition for workplace excellence. Organizations do not and cannot pay for inclusion on the list.
With 8,600 employees, UW Hospital and Clinics is one of the largest employers in the area. Becker's highlighted its 2014 American Heart Association's Fit-Friendly Gold Level award for encouraging healthy eating and supporting employee exercise and its eight consecutive years on the Working Mother "100 Best Companies" list. UWHC also provides a generous tuition-reimbursement program for work-related courses.
"As a nationally ranked health care organization, it's an honor to also be recognized for our employee programs," said Ron Sliwinski, hospital president and CEO. "In order to provide our patients and their families with the best quality care, it's crucial that our employees are satisfied and engaged with their workplace and careers. UW Hospital and Clinics is proud to offer a rewarding work environment where our employees are empowered to achieve their potential."
The only other Madison-area company to make the list was Epic Systems in Verona. To view the entire list, with details on all the 2015 winners, visit the Becker's Healthcare website.
