UW Hospital and Clinics Again Among "Best Companies for Hourly Workers"
Madison, Wisconsin - University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics has been named for the fourth year in a row to Working Mother magazine's list of "Best Companies for Hourly Workers." The hospital is one of only 12 employers in the U.S. to receive the prestigious award.
The magazine's list spotlights best practices across a spectrum of employer policies and programs to benefit hourly workers, including health benefits, wellness programs, paid leave and development opportunities.
UWHC joins Marriott International, Sodexo and University of New Mexico Hospitals to be one of only four companies in the nation to have received this recognition every year since the award was initiated by Working Mother magazine four years ago.

Working Mother applauded UW Hospital and Clinics for developing programs that help working parents achieve their professional goals while encouraging a dynamic work-life culture. The hospital was given high marks for its programs and policies concerning:

Companies named to the "Best Companies for Hourly Workers" list must employ a workforce of at least 50 percent hourly workers. Seventy-four percent of UW Hospital and Clinics' workforce is comprised of hourly workers.
UW Hospital and Clinics has also been named to Working Mother's "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" list since 2007. Working Mother has a circulation of 2 million and is the only national magazine for career-oriented mothers.
