UW Health and Aurora Health Care to Explore Collaborative Opportunities
Madison and Milwaukee, Wisconsin - UW Health and Aurora Health Care, two of Wisconsin's leading integrated health care systems, said today they are in discussions to explore how the two organizations can work together to enhance the delivery of high quality, affordable health care to Wisconsin and the surrounding region.
Leaders from both organizations are committed to the concept of accountable care, in which providers of health care embrace the responsibility and financial risk for the care of people in a system that provides high quality, cost effective care.
UW Health and Aurora leaders are also dedicated to the principle that the delivery of superior health care can be made possible only through the continuing creation of new knowledge and the education and training of tomorrow’s clinicians and scientists.
Discussions between the organizations will include ideas for enhancing the mission of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. Aurora and the UW School of Medicine and Public Health have enjoyed a successful 30-year partnership in medical education.
Leaders of the two organizations believe they can build on their collective strengths in nationally-recognized clinical quality, health care that is among the most cost effective in Wisconsin and a commitment to enhancing the health of populations.
