Third Annual Wisconsin Dance Marathon Raises $65,300
MADISON - More than 400 University of Wisconsin students and other community members got their groove on during the third annual Wisconsin Dance Marathon.
Held February 18 in the Great Hall at the Memorial Union on the UW-Madison campus, the 14-hour event raised more than $65,300 for the American Family Children's Hospital.
Most participants raised $100 each by collecting pledges. Dancers were entertained throughout the night by performances from various UW-Madison dance teams.
American Family Children's Hospital Vice President Jeff Poltawsky applauded participants for their enthusiasm and commitment to such a great cause.
"I was fortunate to experience firsthand the leadership, enthusiasm and enormous talent of the students," said Poltawsky. "They exceeded all expectations, and I commend them on their involvement and enthusiasm."
The Wisconsin Dance Marathon organizers from the University of Wisconsin and American Family Children's Hospital extends its sincere gratitude to all who contributed this year.
