Governor Walker Helps Celebrate Latest Project SEARCH Graduates


Madison, Wisconsin - Governor Scott Walker visited University Hospital recently to take part in the graduation ceremony for the latest class of UW Health Project SEARCH employees.


The ceremony honored 11 young people with disabilities who completed a year of training rotations in a variety of departments at the hospital.


UW Health is a proud host site for Project SEARCH, which provides interns with complete immersion in a business setting combined with classroom instruction and personalized feedback structures. Interns graduate from the program equipped with the skills and work experience necessary to transition into paid employment in a variety of businesses - Project SEARCH has an 89 percent job placement rate.


UW Health's Project SEARCH interns work in Environmental Services, Culinary Services, Central Services, Pharmacy, Clinical Labs, Radiology and Employee Health and Guest Services at University Hospital, and nearby at American Family Children's Hospital and the Waisman Center.
