Carnival Fundraiser to Benefit Children's Hospital: August 9

Carnival and Car Wash Fundraiser to Benefit American Family Children's HospitalMADISON – Six-year-old Abby Niemuth touched many lives, from her peers to country music superstars and everyone in between during her brave battle with leukemia. It's the reason why Ashley Nonn, a 17-year-old senior at Middleton High School, is organizing a carnival and fund-raiser in Abby's memory.

"[Abby] touched so many people, and she certainly touched me. Just meeting her made me want to help people," said Nonn, a family friend of the Niemuths.

Nonn, along with the Niemuth family and volunteers, have organized a carnival and car wash in memory of Abby. All proceeds from the events will support American Family Children's Hospital.

Carnival, Car Wash and Seafood Dinner Fundraisers: August 9, 2008

The carnival will be Saturday, August 9, 2008, at Middleton High School, while the car wash will be held at Middleton Cycle. And on the same day, if diners at Joey's Seafood and Grill tell their server they're there to support American Family Children's, 10 percent of their dinner check will be donated to the hospital.

"The fundraiser is awesome,” commented Abby's dad, DJ Niemuth. "Abby kicked bad cell booty, as she called it, for two years straight and she's still kicking bad cell booty."

The carnival will run from 10 am - 4 pm and include a dunk tank, lots of food, activities and prizes for kids.

Middleton High School is located at 2100 Bristol Street in Middleton, Wis. The car wash will be a short drive away at Middleton Cycle, 6641 University Avenue.
