As they say, skin care routines are a bit like your wardrobe. A couple of times a year, you need to switch out the pieces that don't fit the season.

Cleanse

In the fall, you may need to switch to a gentler, less-drying cleanser. Pay attention to your skin, and if you are feeling dry, give SkinMedica Sensitive Skin Cleanser or Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser Lotion a try. Using SkinCeuticals Micro-Exfoliating Scrub 2-3 times per week is also a great choice to scrub away the dead skin build-up from the summer.

Exfoliate

Now that you are spending less time in the sun, it's time to focus on exfoliation a little more. Start the season off with SkinMedica Retinol Complex for your nighttime routine. We can help you choose what strength is best for your skin type.

Moisturize

Your skin needs more hydration in the fall than in the summer. As the air becomes drier, trying a water-attracting hyaluronic acid formula, such as SkinMedica HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator, can help keep skin hydrated.

SPF

Even when it's not sunny out, the importance of sun protection remains. Make sure your daily routine includes a broad spectrum SPF, such as Revision Intellishade Original, an anti-aging tinted moisturizer with SPF 45.

Protect Your Lips

Start moisturizing now to prevent dry, cracked lips this winter with SkinCeuticals Antioxidant Lip Repair.

Make Over Your Makeup

If you're not already using mineral makeup, now is the time. Jane Iredale mineral makeup boasts good-for-your-skin ingredients, such as plankton and algae extract, and it's also free of preservatives, synthetics and artificial oils. Be sure to set the minerals for a long-lasting, smooth finish with Jane Iredale's Hydration Spray.
