Skin Care Transition: Tips for Fall
Advice from our UW Health Transformations Jeune Skin Care aestheticians:
As they say, skin care routines are a bit like your wardrobe. A couple of times a year, you need to switch out the pieces that don't fit the season.

In the fall, you may need to switch to a gentler, less-drying cleanser. Pay attention to your skin, and if you are feeling dry, give SkinMedica Sensitive Skin Cleanser or Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser Lotion a try. Using SkinCeuticals Micro-Exfoliating Scrub 2-3 times per week is also a great choice to scrub away the dead skin build-up from the summer.
Now that you are spending less time in the sun, it's time to focus on exfoliation a little more. Start the season off with SkinMedica Retinol Complex for your nighttime routine. We can help you choose what strength is best for your skin type.
Your skin needs more hydration in the fall than in the summer. As the air becomes drier, trying a water-attracting hyaluronic acid formula, such as SkinMedica HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator, can help keep skin hydrated.
Even when it's not sunny out, the importance of sun protection remains. Make sure your daily routine includes a broad spectrum SPF, such as Revision Intellishade Original, an anti-aging tinted moisturizer with SPF 45.
