Radiologists and radiology technologists are on hand 24/7 to provide care for many of the patients who require care in the Emergency Department. The radiology teams are prepared for virtually any patient emergency, pediatric or adult, medical or traumatic, and are able to provide imaging services upon arrival. In addition, imaging plays an important role in the diagnosis of many other emergency medical conditions.

Computed tomography (CT) imaging is a valuable tool for the rapid assessment of traumatic injury to the chest, spine, pelvis, face and extremities. Three-dimensional images, which can be manipulated and viewed from all angles. These three-dimensional images are particularly valuable for the diagnosis of aortic aneurysms and for the assessment of facial, spine and pelvic fractures.
