The National Kidney Registry

Apply to be a Donor

The National Kidney Registry (NKR) uses sophisticated technology to create matches nationwide. They manage the largest group of donors in the world. The size of this program helps patients by giving them the best chance of finding a well-matched living donor kidney. There are usually about 300 donors listed in the NKR, and patients who receive kidneys through the NKR have better 1, 3 and 5-year results.

UW Health has nurses and other staff members who are dedicated to coordinating our donors and recipients who are listed with the NKR.
