Are you at risk for stroke?
Using ultrasound, a screening available from UW Health Heart and Vascular Care detects abnormal blood flow and build-up of plaque in the arteries which can lead to a stroke. It also checks your heart rhythm and blood pressure.
Who Should Be Tested?
This screening is appropriate for people age 60 years and older who smoke and/or have any of the following conditions:
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Hypertension
  • High cholesterol
Screening Information

Each screening is evaluated by a UW Health physician who specializes in vascular disease. Patients receive their preliminary test results immediately following the scan from a registered vascular technologist.

Screenings are offered on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, by appointment. Each screening is $70 and more than one test can be scheduled in one appointment. To schedule an appointment, call UW Health Preventive Cardiology at (608) 263-7420.
