William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital
A a 120-bed general medical and surgical hospital attached to UW Hospital and Clinics, the Veterans Hospital serves about 96,000 outpatients and 5,700 inpatients yearly. A variety of rotations is available for house officers.
A private, non-profit 517-bed hospital, Meriter offers care in every major medical specialty and provides a variety of clinical experiences and faculty for our house officers. UW Hospital's programs in high-risk obstetrics, perinatal medicine and neonatal intensive care are at Meriter Hospital.
St. Mary's Hospital
With 345 beds, St. Marys provides rotations in family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, urology and pathology.
Other affiliated institutions include Marshfield Clinic and St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Lutheran Hospital and Gundersen Clinic in LaCrosse and Sinai Samaritan Medical Center in Milwaukee.
The UW Department of Family Medicine and Community Health has residency training sites at St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center in Madison, Sacred Heart and Luther hospitals in Eau Claire, Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, Appleton Medical Center and St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, and St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee.
