Go Red Girl Scout Patch Program

Go Red Girl Scout Online Art Gallery; Drawing of Four Women Dancing by Catherine EMore than 1,000 girls have participated in the Go Red Girl Scouts Patch Program. The artwork falls into five categories:

  • Why I love my heart: Healthy hearts give us healthy bodies and let us do the things we love most. What activities do you like to do most that you need a healthy heart and body for?
  • What heart health means to me: How do you think having a healthy heart makes your life better? What kinds of things can you do because you have a healthy heart?
  • Steps to a healthier heart: What are things we can do to keep our hearts healthy? What sort of things should we avoid if we want a healthy heart?
  • Eat healthy: What kinds of foods help keep our heart and bodies healthy and happy?
  • Important women in my life: Draw a picture of a woman you admire.
We hope these works of art will inspire you to take better care of your own heart. To learn more about heart-healthy steps you can take, click on the link associated with each artwork category. You'll be directed to the section of the UW Health Go Red for Women information that can help you become better informed, stronger and healthier.

"As someone who's special to me, I want to tell you about the Go Red Girl Scouts Online Art Gallery.
The gallery was created by Girl Scouts from all over Wisconsin to show the women and girls they love how to take better care of their hearts. Most girls and women don't even realize that just like men, they are at risk for developing heart disease!
I hope you'll take the time to check out the website and online gallery at https://www.uwhealth.org/gored/goredgirlscoutsonlinegallery/13601 to see how I've learned to take better care of my heart. And, I hope you'll be inspired to take better care of your heart, too."
