Wei Huang, MD, is a UW Health pathologist and a professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She examines patients’ tissue samples to make diagnoses that guide clinicians in creating the right treatment plans. Dr. Huang’s clinical interests are diseases that affect the male genitourinary (urinary and genital) tract, head and neck conditions, and the endocrine system. Her patient care philosophy is to focus on knowledge and make sure her patients are informed. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Huang conducts research that uses digital images of tissue sections and state-of-the-art software to analyze cancer biomarkers. She is also working on an AI-powered platform to predict patient outcomes and treatment responses by using whole slide images of patients' tissue samples. In her free time, Dr. Huang enjoys reading, cooking, gardening and horseback riding. As a child, I was often ill, but my doctor was always able to make me feel better. I was inspired by my family doctor to enter the medical profession.
