Stephen Halliday, MD, MSCI

Stephen Halliday, MD, is a pulmonologist at UW Health and an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He specializes in treating people with a range of interstitial lung diseases.

Dr. Halliday commonly works with patients living with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), familial pulmonary fibrosis and hypersensitivity pneumonitis. He also treats patients with autoimmune lung and connective tissue disorders and lung diseases caused by environmental toxins such as asbestos.

Dr. Halliday’s care philosophy is to collaborate with his patients to understand their personal histories, symptoms, preferences and goals in order to develop the most appropriate care plan for them. When working with patients who have complex lung conditions, he works closely with other specialty providers to coordinate treatment.

Dr. Halliday is also serves as a local investigator for multi-center clinical trials that investigate new drug therapies for interstitial lung diseases.

In his free time, Dr. Halliday enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, playing fetch with the family’s dog, birdwatching, running and watching sports.
