About

Sharon Finlayson, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner who specializes in sleep medicine.

Sharon sees patients for a range of sleep-related problems that can cause symptoms, such as day-time sleepiness, fatigue, headaches, snoring, night-time gasping/choking, heartburn and mood swings. She primarily works with patients with sleep apnea — a condition where people have trouble breathing while they sleep.

As part of her practice, Sharon evaluates people for sleep studies and teaches patients how to use recommended sleep equipment such as CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machines.

Understanding that sleep impacts many aspects of our well-being, Sharon collaborates with her colleagues to provide comprehensive care and education for her patients. She takes time to discuss all available treatment options with her patients and ensures that they feel comfortable with their care plan. She believes partnering with her patients to help them make decisions that reflect their needs and improve their quality of life is the most effective approach to care.

The most rewarding part of my job is helping people get the sleep they need so they can get back to enjoying the activities they love.
