Dr. Patterson earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Lehigh University.  She completed an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship and fellowship within the VA Health Care System where she received specialized training in the areas of Health Psychology and Primary Care – Mental Health Integration. Through her training and work as a VA staff psychologist, she gained experience conducting pre-surgical psychological evaluations, group health interventions, and individual psychotherapy with adults ages 18 – 100+. Her clinical interests include assessment and treatment of eating disorders, caregiver and patient adjustment to chronic illness, women’s health, trauma-informed care, and the provision of weight-inclusive services within health care settings. Dr. Patterson holds a national provider certification of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. She is a member of the Association for Size Diversity & Health and APA Division 38: Health Psychology.
