Scott Nagle, MD, is a UW Health radiologist and an associate professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He uses advanced imaging to diagnose and guide treatment for a variety of thoracic (chest) conditions.
Dr. Nagle specializes in diagnosing lung disorders such as cystic fibrosis and pulmonary embolism (clotting that blocks a lung artery). He also evaluates heart and vascular system diseases, which include blood vessels and circulatory disorders.
Using the latest tools and technologies, Dr. Nagle provides expert analysis of diseases and disorders of the chest. He uses cardiovascular imaging, fluoroscopic studies (continuous, real-time X-rays), MRI and other thoracic imaging approaches. Dr. Nagle collaborates with other specialists and assists them in accurately evaluating and diagnosing complex conditions.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Nagle conducts research that focuses on pulmonary (lung) MRI with enhanced methods of imaging lung structure and function. His findings have translated to clinical improvements in diagnosing and caring for cystic fibrosis, pulmonary embolism and other lung conditions.
In radiology practice and teaching, I am motivated by a desire to help improve the lives of others.
