About

Sarah Shatz (she/her/hers) has been formally practicing mindfulness since 2013. Her early teaching experiences were with the Kindness Curriculum at the Center for Healthy Minds and the development as well as the delivery of the Mindfulness for Middle Schoolers curriculum at UW Health. In 2017, she participated in the UW Health Mindfulness Program Teacher Training Practicum and is currently teaching adult Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) classes. She is a qualified teacher of MBSR through the University of California San Diego’s Teacher Training program.

Sarah is motivated by her collaborative work with the YWCA in the Mindfulness for All Partnership where she co-teaches Embodied Racial Justice classes for people who identify as white. She sees mindfulness as a practice and a way of life that holds her accountable to not only live in alignment with her ethics and values but to fully show up for life as it unfolds. Last but not least, she is a licensed clinical social worker, works as a community based social worker and does her best as a beekeeper with a small urban apiary in Madison. She lives with her partner and their niece on the north side of Madison.
