Samantha Murray-Bainer, MD

Samantha Murray-Bainer, MD, is a UW Health hospital medicine doctor and an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Murray-Bainer provides care to adults who are spending time in the hospital. She regularly cares for patients who have severe infections, heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, lung disease and diabetes-related complications. 

Dr. Murray-Bainer explains that she enjoys playing detective to figure out what’s wrong with her patients and involving the right subspecialists to take care of them. She values the opportunity to guide a patient and their family through the care system and on the path to improved health. 

Outside of work, Dr. Murray-Bainer enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, dabbling in the kitchen, binge-watching Netflix and reading both fiction and non-fiction.

I wanted to become a doctor – and specifically a hospital medicine doctor – so that I can take care of the whole patient when they’re at their sickest and needing a lot of support.
