Patricia Deffner-Valley, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatrician and a clinical associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Deffner-Valley provides primary care for children of all ages, from birth through college graduation.

Dr. Deffner-Valley diagnoses and treats the full spectrum of illnesses and injuries, from acute (sudden) infections to long-term, chronic conditions such as asthma. She also offers preventive care and conducts annual well checks and physical exams. Dr. Deffner-Valley has a special interest in managing asthma and using the latest technology to improve pediatric care.

Dr. Deffner-Valley enjoys watching her patients grow and caring for them through each developmental stage. Her care philosophy centers around taking the time to get to know each patient and their family in order to customize a treatment plan to benefit them the most.

In her free time, Dr. Deffner-Valley enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.

Children are very wonderful patients because they’re very honest about how they feel. They have wonderful ideas and thoughts to share with us.
