Nicole Shapiro, NP

Nicole Shapiro NP, is a nurse practitioner at UW Health where she helps patients of all ages with sexual health concerns, menstrual disorders, family planning, contraceptive care, IUD placement and menopause. She also provides prenatal, childbirth and postpartum care, including help with breastfeeding.

Nicole believes in open communication to build relationships and partnerships with her patients. She educates them and supports self-determined treatment approaches. Nicole strives to create a safe, trusting and health-promoting environment for every individual.

In her free time, Nicole enjoys going outside with her husband and two boys and taking advantage of the area’s natural recreation opportunities. She also enjoys cooking, knitting and reading or listening to audiobooks.

We deal with a lot of conditions that women feel are “invisible.” It's very rewarding when I can form a bond with a patient and help her tackle something that’s been a struggle for a long time.
