About

Michael Sloan, MD, FACS, is a UW Health general surgeon and an associate professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Sloan cares for patients with a wide range of general surgery needs, with a primary focus on hernia and gallbladder conditions. Known for his commitment to cutting-edge care, he uses minimally invasive surgical techniques such as laparoscopic (a procedure characterized by small incisions guided by a camera) and robotic surgery.

Dr. Sloan recognizes that caring for people is a privilege. He strives to treat patients with the same level of respect and compassion he would want for his own family. He takes time to answer his patients’ questions and discuss treatment options before working with them to choose solutions that best fit their needs. His goal is to get patients back to doing the things they enjoy.

Dr. Sloan is a lifelong Wisconsinite and enjoys spending his free time in nature.

I deeply value the trust my patients place in me. It is an honor to serve my community.
