About

Laura Houser, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatrician and a clinical professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

With a focus on primary care, Dr. Houser diagnoses and cares for children from birth to college with a variety of conditions including infections, rashes and chronic illnesses such as asthma.

With a clinical interest in newborn care, Dr. Houser offers specialized care for newborns and breastfeeding mothers, provides routine wellness checks and evaluates learning, growth and developmental milestones. She also assists with international adoption and helps patients with mental health concerns.

Involving patients and families in decision-making is a priority for Dr. Houser. She listens to kids and talks with them in understandable terms about their general health and wellness. She offers education for families to help them make informed decisions about their child’s care.

In her free time, Dr. Houser enjoys travel, camping and activities such as biking and swimming with her children and family.

I help kids to grow up to be healthy, happy and successful. I want them to know that they have a safe, knowledgeable, effective place to seek help when they need it.
