Kristin Berg, MD

About

Kristin Berg, MD, is a UW Health internal medicine doctor and an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Berg offers comprehensive primary and diagnostic care for people aged 18 and older. She treats a wide range of acute (sudden) and chronic (long-term) conditions — everything from viruses and urinary tract infections to diabetes and heart disease.

Understanding that patients are more than just their diagnosis, Dr. Berg practices whole-person care. After taking a thorough health history, she takes time to learn about each patient’s family, lifestyle and interests. She says her favorite part of being a doctor is getting to know patients on a personal level and caring for them over the years.

Dr. Berg’s care philosophy is based on education and shared decision-making. She engages her patients in conversation, listening to their concerns and answering their questions. After outlining treatment options, she helps patients choose care plans that best meet their goals and values. She believes the after-visit summary is a valuable tool to remind patients about key points of their care plans and important next steps.

During free time, Dr. Berg enjoys hiking, gardening, crocheting and reading.

Good patient care is a partnership. I work with my patients to help them feel better and create effective care plans.
