About

Krista Hanson, PA, is a UW Health physician assistant who specializes in trauma surgery. She cares for patients who have been admitted to the hospital for any type of traumatic injury requiring surgical treatment.

Krista’s expertise in trauma care spans the breadth of severe injuries. She regularly cares for people who’ve been involved in car, motorcycle or snowmobile accidents and those who’ve fallen and require surgical care. She also works with patients undergoing surgery for gunshot and knife wounds.

As part of a multidisciplinary care team, Krista manages patients’ conditions before and after surgery. She offers both medical and emotional support and provides information to families about their loved one’s condition and health status. Her hope for every patient is that she can help them recover medically, physically, socially and emotionally.

Outside of work, Krista enjoys trying new foods, traveling, downhill skiing, hiking, walking with her mom and vacationing with family in Colorado.

I enjoy supporting people and being able to explain complex medical situations to patients and families to help them through traumatic injuries.
