About

As a physician specially trained in emergency medicine, Joshua Gauger, MD leads a team of expert health care clinicians who treat people with illnesses or injuries that could be life-threatening or pose an immediate risk to their health and well-being. Dr. Gauger serves as medical director for the UW Health Emergency Department at University Hospital. In this role, Dr. Gauger focuses on maintaining an efficient and productive care team to provide outstanding emergency care to every patient. He also finds enjoyment in his non-clinical work, which includes quality improvement, patient safety, and operations. His current projects include work on sepsis, stroke, and trauma.
