About

Joseph Wangerin, PA, is a UW Health physician assistant specializing in family medicine. He offers primary health care for patients of all ages.

Joseph cares for patients with a broad spectrum of general health concerns. He sees patients for acute (short-term) problems, including viruses, rashes, injuries and infections.  He also sees patients with chronic (long-lasting) conditions such as heart disease or diabetes. He helps them navigate the health care system by coordinating different aspects of care, including mind-body medicine, lifestyle counseling, drug therapies and medical procedures.

Whether they are overcoming an illness or improving their lifestyle choices, Joseph looks forward to helping his patients thrive. He believes in empowering them to make their own health care decisions. He ensures that patients feel confident in their choices by listening to their goals, discussing their options and working with them to find treatments that fit their needs.

In his free time, Joseph enjoys running marathons, cross-country skiing and staying active outdoors.

I strive to empower my patients to live their best lives by helping them take control of their health.
