Heather Sorensen is the Co-Program Manager of the UW Health Mindfulness Program. Heather began teaching with the UW Health Mindfulness Program in 2012, and co-developed the Mindfulness for Teens course. She has practiced meditation, mindfulness and yoga since 1999, and has trained with the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness, Courage of Care and UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2000, Heather has worked in a variety of clinical, school and hospital settings, specializing in mindfulness-based psychotherapy with children, adolescents and adults. She is a registered yoga teacher. Her interests include developing mindfulness programs that are responsive to diverse settings and populations.
