About

Caitlin Gunderson, PA, is a UW Health physician assistant. She provides primary and preventive care for patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly.

Caitlin cares for patients in all stages of life. She diagnoses and treats a wide variety of acute (sudden) illnesses and helps patients manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure), anxiety and depression. She also performs well-check exams and provides contraception such as birth control implants like Nexplanon and intrauterine device (IUD) placements. Her clinical interests are contraception, mental health and substance use.

Caitlin believes in shared decision-making and a patient-centered approach to care. She practices empathetic listening to get to the root of her patients’ concerns and goals. She then explains their treatment options to help them choose the right care plan for their unique needs and values.

In her free time, Caitlin enjoys reading, hiking and spending time with her family.

I find taking care of an entire family very rewarding — I enjoy watching them grow.
