About

Bunmi Kumapayi, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner specializing in urology. She diagnoses and treats men and women with conditions such as overactive bladder, urinary incontinence and urinary tract infections. Bunmi also cares for patients with prostate disorders such as benign enlarged prostate and prostate cancer.

Bunmi treats chronic urinary and bladder control disorders, acute (sudden) conditions such as severe pain and kidney stones and erectile dysfunction. She stays on the leading edge of urological care, collaborating with other UW Health specialists when needed to offer comprehensive diagnosis and treatment.

In addition to physical exams and medical histories, Bunmi talks with her patients about their symptoms, lifestyle, condition and treatment goals before tailoring care to their needs. If patients are having surgical procedures, she provides preoperative care, postoperative care and follow-up evaluations.

Bunmi informs prostate surgery patients about opportunities to participate in research studies through the Department of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is also involved in imaging studies to help improve prostate disorder diagnosis and treatment.

In her free time, Bunmi enjoys reading, cooking and traveling.

It’s rewarding to be part of a health care team that solves problems and can bring a smile to a patient's face.
