Welcome Back, Sandy!

UW Health Fitness Center Staff Member Sandra Salvo

The newest member to our Fitness Center Aquatics team is actually a familiar face in the Research Park’s Aquatic Center - Sandra Salvo.

Sandra Salvo (or many of you may know her as Sandy Powers) is back! After working the past 10 years in QSI (Quality, Safety and Innovations) and Patient and Family-Centered Care Departments for UW Health, Sandy recently retired from full-time employment and is returning “poolside” to teach assorted aquatics classes.

Sandy has over 30 years of experience in the health and wellness industry and we are very excited to welcome her back to the aquatics program that she helped start and developed.

Sandy is certified with the Aquatic Exercise Association and she will be instructing the Deep Water Interval class. She is also a certified Qigong instructor through the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi.

Trivia question: What person was very instrumental with the planning, coordinating and opening of the aquatic center at Research Park 22 years ago?

Answer: Sandy Powers Salvo! We are very glad to have you back!
