Staff Spotlight: Goodbyes

Good Bye and Good Luck

This spring/summer we say “good bye” and “good luck” to two integral members of our staff. They each have contributed markedly in making the UW Health Sports Medicine Center what it is today. We thank them for their years of committed service and wish them all the best in life’s next adventure.

Katrina Caufield

Katrina Caulfield

After over 6 dedicated years of serving our swimming clientele, Katrina (“Kat”) Caulfield has resigned her position in the Aquatics Center.

Kat started here with us as a lifeguard way back when she was a student at UW. You can read more about Kat and what she meant to our facility here in a previous Staff Spotlight.

Kat has been accepted into the Nursing School at UW – Oshkosh and begins the program this summer.

We thank Kat for all her contributions here. She will be missed by our pool patrons and staff alike. We wish her the best in her studies and know that she will be an outstanding nurse!

Carol Nielsen

Carol Nielsen

Anyone who visits the Fitness Center on weekday mornings/early afternoons knows Carol.

Since the Research Park Clinic opened in 1995, Carol’s friendly face and positive attitude at the building’s front desk has greeted thousands of members, class participants, patients and visitors. Building staff have long relied on her to keep us “looking good” by mastering the (often changing) registration, scheduling and accounting systems used here.

Just as importantly (most of us would say MORE importantly) Carol has blessed this facility with a quick wit and a playful attitude that made working here both pleasant and special. To say that Carol will be missed feels like an inadequate understatement. Her playful banter, warm smile and quick laugh will be sorely missed by staff and participants alike.

Carol is retiring July 1st. She is looking forward to spending more time with her family (especially her grandchildren). She will be missed by all of us here!
