Staff Spotlight: Barb Anderegg
This summer our Svaroopa Yoga community had to say goodbye to Nansi Colley, their beloved instructor of the last 20 plus years. While we will miss Nansi, we were fortunate that one of Nansi’s long time students, Barb Anderegg, decided to expand her Svaroopa practice and delve into teaching!
Barb had taken the Svaroopa yoga teacher training in January of 2014 to deepen her practice. She repeated the training this May as a refresher and to prepare herself to begin sharing her love of the practice through teaching. Barb has had a wonderful start here, offering the opportunity to try Svaroopa Yoga with her full demo class in August, before starting her very popular class this fall.
Barb was born in Philadelphia, PA, but moved to New Orleans, LA, just 6 months later. When she was 10, her family moved to Fond du Lac, WI. Her father was an executive at Mercury Marine and her mother served as Fond du Lac County Executive for 12 years.
Barb attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison earning degrees in Horticulture and Entomology. She also attended Madison Area Technical College, earning a degree in Machine Tool. She worked in Machine Tool jobs for 10 years before becoming a Machine Tool Instructor at Madison Area Technical College for almost 18 years.
Barb lives on Madison's near west side with her partner Harry. As retirees, they enjoy gardening, cooking, and traveling.
