Class Spotlight: Indoor Cycling Options


As the days get shorter and the temperatures drop, outdoor cycling becomes more and more difficult. Avid cyclists (as well as fitness enthusiasts), don't despair! We have a variety of indoor cycling options right here to meet everybody's needs.

 

Our winter/spring class season is fast approaching, with open registration starting December 9. As you contemplate your exercise and training choices for the new year, we hope that you'll consider one of our indoor cycling programs as another viable option.

Upcoming Indoor Cycling Classes

 

The following Indoor Cycling classes will be offered during our upcoming session:

 

Indoor Cycling

 

A class for the general fitness enthusiast, recreational cyclist and/or the cyclist looking for an indoor workout. This class delivers a great progressive cardiovascular workout on the popular Saris Indoor bikes. These bikes allow you to feel as though you are riding on a real road bike. Regardless of one's ability, the beauty of the class is that all levels can enjoy their workout together. Participants will be properly fitted for their bikes and taught correct cycling techniques. 

 

Dates and times

  • Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 6-7am, starts January 6, 8 and 10, respectively;
  • Saturdays, 10:15-11:30am, starts January 11

Indoor Cycling Express

 

In a time crunch? Indoor Cycling Express is a class for the general fitness enthusiast and delivers a great cardiovascular workout in 45 minutes. You need not to be an avid cyclist to enjoy the benefits of this class. Participants will be properly fitted for their bikes and taught correct cycling techniques.

 

Dates and times

  • Tuesday/Thursday, 12:15–1pm, starts January 7

Indoor Cycling Advanced

 

A high-level class for the serious fitness enthusiast or cyclist. Above-average fitness is a pre-requisite. This class uses the popular Saris Indoor bikes equipped with PowerTap technology, and will cultivate a deeper understanding of exercise physiology as it applies to training principles on the bike. Indoor training will translate to improved strength, efficiency and power when cycling outdoors.

 

Dates and times

  • Mondays, 6–7pm, starts January 6

Indoor Cycling Performance

 

A high-level class for the serious fitness enthusiast or competitive cyclist. Above-average fitness and/or previous indoor cycling class experience are required. This class uses the popular Saris Indoor bikes equipped with PowerTap technology, and will enhance cycling specific fitness and translate to overall improved cycling performance. Both road and off-road cyclists welcome.

 

Dates and times

  • Tuesdays/Thursdays, 6–7:15pm, starts January 7

Beginning (including no experience) and Expert level cyclists are welcome! Some classes do not run for the entire session length (typically ending in April, as longer daylight and warmer weather inspire many to move outdoors).
