It’s in your power to make healthy choices. Whether you are a pre-transplant or post-transplant patient, healthy living is important for your quality of life and for a successful transplant. In this learning session, The UW Health transplant team will offer guidance and resources to help you establish and achieve healthy living goals related to nutrition and exercise. This session is open to any organ transplant patient, pre or post, and their family and friends. For those unable to attend in person, a webinar option is available. Topics covered during the learning session will include:

  • Strategies for healthy meal and snack choices
  • Setting goals and making changes that are sustainable
  • Tips for increasing your daily activity and how to begin a routine
  • Exercise ideas based on your goals, activity level, and mobility
  • Suggestions on when and how to start exercise after transplant
  • The body’s connection between nutrition and exercise
  • A cooking demonstration of healthy choices by a UW transplant nutritionist including a tasting at the end of the session
