Valley View Casino Center, San Diego, Calif.
Join former University of Wisconsin hockey player Joe Piskula as he helps to create awareness and raise funds to support brain cancer research with Hockey4Hope.
Piskula, a defenseman and team captain of the San Diego Gulls in the American Hockey League, is leading the fundraiser in honor of Dom Hilger, his youth hockey coach growing up in Antigo. Hilger was diagnosed with a brain tumor, but is being treated by UW Health neurosurgeons and is making tremendous strides toward recovery.
The Hockey4Hope event will include online and in-game auctions, with all proceeds going to support the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, and City of Hope in San Diego. Additionally, $5 of each $20 ticket purchased for the game will be donated to the groups.
A link to the online auction will be posted when available. Another way to participate in Hockey4Hope from afar is to purchase tickets for the game that will donated to San Diego-area organizations that support families affected by brain cancer.
