You are invited to a UW Carbone Cancer Center presentation about the history of bone marrow transplant, with a focus on the "other" side of transplant. Our presenters will show how graft versus host disease (GVHD), the most common and dreaded complication of bone marrow transplant, continues to plague successful transplantation. More importantly, they will discuss how UW Carbone Cancer Center physicians and researchers are working to minimize the impact of GVHD and ultimately eliminate it.

  • Susan Phillips will present the patient side of GVHD.
  • Dr. Mark Juckett will discuss how the UW Carbone Cancer Center is stepping up to address GVHD through multidisciplinary care, clinical trials and novel approaches for prevention.
  • Dr. Peiman Hematti will outline the goals to address GVHD and other diseases using technological advances and the research capacity of a GMP lab.
