Natalie Callander, MD

Natalie Callander, MD, is a UW Health hematologist specializing in blood disorders and multiple myeloma blood cancer. She’s also a professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Callander treats multiple myeloma and complications such as anemia, bone fractures and infections. She leads the multiple myeloma clinical program at the UW Health | Carbone Cancer Center. Dr. Callander’s specialties include advanced stem cell transplantation, during which patients may receive their own transplanted cells or compatible donor cells.

Understanding that cancer care can feel overwhelming, Dr. Callander takes time to listen to her patients and guide them through treatment options and care. She reassures patients and shares resources and medical advances that can greatly improve their treatment results and quality of life.

Dr. Callander and her UW Health colleagues are at the forefront of research for multiple myeloma. Her research focuses on autologous (self) stem cell transplantation and new cellular and medical therapies for multiple myeloma. She invites her patients to participate in clinical studies that can benefit them personally while also contributing to improved cancer care.

Outside of work, Dr. Callander enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.
