About

Daniel Dickson, PhD, is a UW Health psychologist and clinical assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Psychiatry.

Daniel diagnoses and treats people who struggle with anxiety, depression and a range of sleep disorders. Sleep disturbances are sometimes linked to physical and emotional problems and can contribute to certain mental health conditions.

Daniel uses special techniques to help patients address issues such as excessive worry, negative thinking patterns and avoidance. He also treats insomnia (difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep or getting good quality sleep) and circadian rhythm sleep disorders (problems with the body’s internal clock and sleep-wake cycle that cause extreme daytime sleepiness, decreased alertness and memory issues).

Daniel offers both individual and group psychotherapy. His goal is to help his patients identify what truly matters to them. He helps them to live by their own values instead of their perceived notions of what others may think or expect of them.

During his free time, Daniel enjoys movies and playing and watching basketball.

I work to help clients stop struggling with their thoughts and emotions and regain their sense of vitality, mental strength and positive energy.
