About

Christine Sharkey, MD, is a rheumatologist at UW Health and a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Rheumatology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Through her educational and leadership initiatives, she is working to increase the representation of underrepresented populations in health care.

Dr. Sharkey's treats people with a range of chronic conditions affecting their joints, muscles and bones specializes within rheumatology and takes care of patients with autoimmune interstitial lung disease in patients with scleroderma, myositis, Sjogren's and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). She supports the rheumatology mission of taking care of patients with a variety of inflammatory arthritis. She also treats people who have inflammatory myositis, scleroderma, vasculitis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr. Sharkey enjoys working as a team with her patients to provide them with the best treatments available and give them the tools to manage their individual health issues. She creates an environment that is open and honest, and she listens to her patients' concerns to help them live with their chronic conditions.

Beyond work, Dr. Sharkey enjoys cheering on local soccer teams and spending time on the lakes of Wisconsin, paddle boarding and paddle boating.

With compassion, caring and respect, I work closely with each of my patients to identify the problem and design an individualized treatment program.
