About

Christa Pittner-Smith, MD, is a UW Health family medicine doctor and a clinical associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Pittner-Smith treats a variety of conditions in patients of all ages, from newborns through older adults.

Dr. Pittner-Smith diagnoses and treats acute or sudden illnesses ranging from coughs, colds, flu, rashes and infections to bone, muscle and joint injuries. She also helps patients manage chronic conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

As part of preventive care for children, adolescents and adults, Dr. Pittner-Smith provides routine health exams, well-child visits and immunizations for her patients. She also performs basic dermatologic (skin) and gynecologic (female reproductive organs) office procedures such as skin checks and the insertion of contraceptive devices.

Dr. Pittner-Smith enjoys getting to know her patients over time, listening to their concerns and learning what’s most important to them. She provides personalized medical guidance and care, working closely with patients to develop the best treatment plans for their personal goals.

In her free time, Dr. Pittner-Smith enjoys spending time with her family outdoors and exploring national parks.

I love seeing multiple generations of families as they grow and improve. It’s a joy to develop lasting relationships as a partner on their health care journey.
