The resident in the UW Health PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency will participate as a member of the hematology/oncology team at UW Health and UW Carbone Cancer Center.


The UW Carbone Cancer Center is the only comprehensive cancer center, as designated by the National Cancer Institute, in Wisconsin. In our PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency program, accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the resident will:

  • Practice in both inpatient and ambulatory settings
  • Participate in academic and preceptor programs through the UW School of Pharmacy
  • Complete a longitudinal project suitable for publication
  • Experience rotations tailored to the resident's interests and needs while also meeting ASHP standards

PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency practice settings at UW Health and Carbone Cancer Center that the resident will experience include:

  • 39-bed inpatient adult BMT/hematology/oncology unit
  • Inpatient pediatric BMT/hematology/oncology unit
  • Multiple ambulatory clinics including gastrointestinal, genitourinary, gynecology-oncology, multiple myeloma, breast and lung cancers
  • Palliative care and hospice inpatient care settings
  • Chemotherapy infusion center
  • Academia and research experience
