The UW Hospitals and Clinics Sports Medicine Center offers a 12-week athletic training internship program with the Madison Mallards collegiate summer baseball team. Interns will have comprehensive experiences in sports medicine in a baseball setting, including but not limited to:
- Preventative injury management
- Acute injury
- Chronic overuse injury
- Return-to-play decisions
The internship will be for home games only unless the Mallards make the playoffs. Two candidates will be accepted.
Duties
- Athletic training care for players on daily basis
- Communicate with team athletic trainer and coaches
- Provide in-house rehabilitation programs for player injuries
- Pregame field setup and post-game tear down
