Mammogram Study

Our Services
 
Researchers from the University of Wisconsin are inviting women to participate in a study. The purpose of this research study is to test whether certain environmental pollutants in women's blood have an effect on breast tissue.
 
Who is Eligible
  • Postmenopausal women ages 55-70 who are obtaining a mammogram at the UW Health West Clinic or the UW Health Breast Center 
  • Women without any prior use of hormone replacement therapy or tamoxifen (also called Nolvadex) 
  • Women who have never been diagnosed with breast cancer, have never had a mastectomy, and have never had breast implants
What is Involved
  • Completing a survey (approximately 10 minutes to complete)
  • Donating a blood sample
  • Allowing the researchers to obtain a copy of your mammorgram
  • Receiving $25 as a token of our appreciation
