Patient Story
Dan discovered he had melanoma just after his fourth child was born. He shares his thoughts on how the disease has affected his life.

The melanoma (skin cancer) program at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, the state's only comprehensive cancer center, is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of specialists including dermatologists, surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, plastic surgeons and otolaryngologists.
The multidisciplinary team works together in order to provide the most comprehensive care for patients with melanomas of the skin and eye (intraocular melanoma).
Our specialists have over 10 years of experience performing sentinel lymph node biopsies in the staging of melanoma. We also lead and participate in novel therapies, known as clinical trials for the treatment and prevention of melanoma and other skin cancers.
Dermatologists at the Carbone Cancer Center are able to offer a comprehensive screening for patients at high risk for melanoma.
